Scottie Doghouse

As you know, Mom is a quilter.   Her Quilt Guild had a challenge to make a HOUSE wallhanging quilt.

Here is Mom's quilt entry and guess what..... she won a Viewers Choice Award for it.

High Paws Mom!

It's going to be on display in a local gallery (wiff da other houses) and den at da March (Quilters by the Sea, Wilmington, NC) Quilt Show.   Maybe she'll win another award.  We got loads of doggie lovers here and it's hard not to vote for a Scottie.

Anyways, after dat, she is thinking about donating it to a Scottie Rescue Group to help raise green papers for dem.   So.... do any of you work wiff a Scottie Rescue Group that might be interested in using it for a fund raiser?  It's not a biggy quilt.   It is only a wall hanging (20"x15").

Christmas Quilts

Mom has finally started decorating da inside of our house.
First up, she broke out da Christmas quilts.

Here's my personal favorite.
Do any of des scotties look familiar to you?

I think we need to move da ladder closer.

I can't wait for all da other decorations to come out of da boxes.  One of dem has my plaid Christmas stocking in it.  Do you have a Christmas stocking?   Dis is soooooooo exciting.

What's dat Mom?  We can't finish all da decorating until da end of next week?  Painters are coming?  What's a painter?  Can I play wiff it?  I've never seen a painter.  Dis could get real interesting.

Happy October!

Dis one of my favorite months.

Why you ask?

Cuz we get to celebrate Halloween.

Now to get you in da mood, Mom said I could show you her Halloween quilt (dat was inspired by ME).  Sometime I wonder what she would do wiffout me as inspiration.   Probably lots of boring square blocks sewn together.
Here are da close-ups.

Dis is my favorite quilt.

Mom's muse

Mom's a quilter sometimes I help.   Just look what I inspired ==>  a scottie calendar

Dis is just her 1st block for June.   It's not 100% finished yet (she has to trim it down and finish da edges).  She plans to make a background wall hanging dat has hook/buttons on it so dat each month she can hang/button on a new scottie block.

I can't wait to see what I will inspire next month.

Pet Postcard for Houston

Look what my Mom made.

They are pet postcards made of fabric and I was her inspiration.   Aren't they pawsome?

For the record…
I do not steal sneakers.

They are going to be included in a really BIG exhibit at the Houston Texas Quilt Show.

Attendees at the show can purchase dem and all the money raised goes to Friends for Life, Houston’s premiere no-kill animal shelter.

You can read all about it here http://pokeysponderings.com/category/festival-pet-project-fundraiser/

Aunty D made 2 pet postcard too.   One of a fishy and one of another doggie (not a scottie).

Here are all four.  The top 2 are the ones Aunty D made.
Thanks you Aunty D.
