Flashback Friday

Mom loves flashback fridays.   She likes going thru all my old photos and helping me chose just the right ones to share.

Here I am chomping on a ball.    That was before I discovered leaves.  hehehe

Nothing Butt the Best for all my furfriends.

Coming up:    Lately, I've been digg'n a lot and Mom says I'm smelly.    Tomorrow I have to get a bath cuz on Sunday, I'm meeting a jolly old man in a red suit.   Mom wants me to smell good when I meet this guy.  I guess he doesn't like smelly puppies.   What's that all about?   Doesn't he know that cuteness rules?  I'm not sure I'm going to like him (jolly or not).
Chow for now.

Fall Fun - Leaf'n & the Blower

We have had lots of wind lately and it is starting to get cold.   My yard has lots of leaves on it and sometimes when I go outside it is raining leaves.   I love to chase and snatch the leaves and then… wait for it…  I like to eat them.

Maybe we should make "Leaf Snatching"
a new pet Olympic sport.
I'm looking for that perfect leaf to eat.
Yesterday, Aunty D got out the wind machine and blew all my leaves around the yard and into a big pile.

Mom took some more videos (as y'all seem to really like videos) of my chase'n, snatch'n, and chomp'n on the blowing leaves.  Did you notice my new "southern talk"?

Video 1

 Video 2

I hope you enjoy my latest videos and snatch some leaves for yourself.

Chow for now,

Thanksgiving fun

I know that today is usually Silent Sunday, but I have so much to tell you and I just can't keep quiet.    I want to tell you all about my by surprise guest.  Eric and Kristy visited us and they brought along someone to play with me.  Woohoo!

Meet Issy (Isabella)
She is 4 years old and likes to box.
Look how tall she is?

We had the bestest time playing together.   We played chase in the yard.  Issy is really, really fast and was hard to catch.
(I really hope you can view my videos so you can see us play together.)
** Caution… this first video may make you dizzy **

We also played with one of the two toys that she brought with her.  She calls it her "Flying Squirrel".      Issy always got to it first when someone through it, but sometimes I was able to snatch it way.
Inside the house, we played tug-a-war with my froggy.
And we played tug-a-war with Issy's "Frankenstein" toy.   But poor Franky didn't survive our play.
Frank'n causality

Then came dinner.   I tried to help (or snatch whatever dropped) but they seemed to have things under control

Issy and I both got some turkey with our kibble.   Arrrrrrrrrrrooooooooo.
I learned that I luvvvvvvvvvvv turkey.

Mom even put some leftovers in a little container in the frig, just for me.

After dinner we all went for a walk on the beach.
I got to walk with Eric and we ran and splashed in the ocean.  He is fun to play with.
Issy and I took a long walk on the beach and I think she really liked my beach.
The sun was setting and the sky was real pretty.

On the way back it started to get real dark, so we went back home for some Apple pie.   As you know…..I luv apples.

Issy (my new BPP), Turkey, Apples and the Beach….. Thanksgiving is a grrrrrreat Holiday.
Turkey chow for now.

Turkey? Did I hear Turkey?

glitter pictures

Happy Turkey Day to all my USA furfriends.

Mom says we are having company.   Arooooooo.  Eric and Kristy are coming tonight and guess what….  Krisy is bringing someone to play with me.   It's a big surprise.
I also heard Mom and Aundy D talking about turkey.   Yummmmmmmm….. I can't wait.   A playpal and turkey… life is good.
Not sure what I'm doing in this pumpkin but Mom seems to like it.
I guess I'll tolerate it and then maybe she'll give me some of that turkey I keep hearing about.
Mom said I should list all the things I am thankful for.   So, after much thought, here's my list.
I am thankful for:
  • being adopted by Mom and Aunty D
  • for all my furfriends and human friends (and all their comments on my blog)
  • for cheerios and apples
  • for having such a great back yard to dig holes in
  • for dog and puppy movies on TV (except for the Target dog)
  • for adventures in the zoom, zoom car
  • for all my toys and cardboard boxes
  • for falling leaves (they are fun to catch and eat)
  • and for the use of Mom's computer so I can blog

I hope ALL my furfriends in blogville have a great day.
Waggle, waggle,

2 of My Favorite Things

Can you guess what two of my favorite things are?

This picture says it all.
One of them is a place and the other is an activity.
Hummmmmmmm..  this maybe a tad too easy.

tick-toc
tick-toc
tick-toc…..   times up!

I know, the suspense is killing you so here's the answer…

The place is the Beach!   I love it when Mom takes me to the beach.  It is always such a tail-wagging good time.   So much to explore.

This time, while I was walking along the beach a crab (that's what Mom said it was) came out of a hole and when he saw me he quickly ran down another hole.  Wooooh.  I was all excited but he didn't even stay long enough to chat.  Maybe he is looking for Alice.
Well, I really wanted to met him so I went looking for him.
Did he go down here?
Now we are down to my second favorite things - the activity.  Got it?   Yep…. it is Digg'n.    I just love it when 2 good things come together.   Digg'n on the beach.
Maybe he went down here.

I never did find Mr. Crabby, but I did have a pawsome good time.   Maybe I'll see him the next time we go to the beach.
Mom loves taking pictures of me with a sandy nose
and beard.   Go figure.

Wags and lots of licks,
Ranger

Play-date with my BPP Wally

Aaarrrooooooo.
Yesterday my BPP (best puppy pal) Wally came over to my house for a play-date.

We had the bestest time.   We raced all around the yard.   Wally is really, really fast.  He is two years old and has longer legs than me.    I still gave him a good run for his money.
Let's race to the big blue ball.  The first on there gets a treat!
Ready, Set, Go!
We also played hotdog rally.   Check out my new video.
Phewwwwwwwwww….  racing is exhausting.
We took a break but still kept our eyes on each other.
I wanted to be ready in case he took off again.
Wally really likes pinecones and he found one in the yard.  He enjoyed a good sit-down chomp on it.
Wally is a real sharp dresser.  Check out his patriotic scarf.
I think I'd like to chomp on that pinecone.
We have other ones in the yard… but his really looks good.

I wonder how I can get it away from Wally?
I know…. I'll distract him.    I'll run over to the fence and bark at the people walkin over there on the street.
Yippy….. it worked!   Wally let go of his pinecone and ran over to me at the fence to see what what was going on.   I quickly turned and ran back to the pinecone and snatched it.  (I guess all those snatching lessons really paid off).
Wally may be fast and can beat me at a race… but I am one smart scottie.

I also invited Wally to come inside the house and I showed him all my cool toys.
I let him play with my bar-bell while I watched.
I think I can take him at a game of tug-a-war.

I backed him into the corner (by the fireplace) so he could not back up any more.   I thought I would win this one as I am pretty strong.  But…...
Oooooooop.   It was a tie.  We tore the paper towel roll in half.
I'm really glad Wally came to play with me.   He really wore me out and I had to go bed really early.  Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Have a pawsome weekend.  Play hard.
Ranger (still search'n for Wally today)

Flashback Friday - "Little Laddie"

Me @ 2 1/2 months old.

Wasn't I a cute little laddie?

I am now 8 months old and everyday is a new adventure.  This afternoon my BPP Wally is coming over to play with me.   I can't wait!   (I even got a bath yesterday so I will look and smell good).
I'll bark at you again soon.

Windows 2012 & My New Job

Let me tell you all about my new job.

Mom had the windows cleaned yesterday.   Apparently she does not like to clean windows so Tom & Jerold came over to clean all of our window.   I've met Tom & Jerold before, when they stopped over to clean our carpets, and they are really fun guys.   The first thing they asked, when they came to the door, was "where is Ranger"?

Well…. I'm getting a bit off track.   Back to my new job.

My job was to supervisor the window cleaning outside while Mom checked on things inside the house.
Here I am at my post and ready to supervise.
Jerold came out and first I checked out his supplies.
Yep…. that looks ok.   You can start now.
Get too it Jerold.   The clock is ticking.
He climbed up on the ladder and washed the window and then moved the ladder to another spot and climbed back up the ladder again.  I followed him all around the house.
Oops… here he comes down again.   I'd better get out of his way.
One time, when I tried to inspect his work, I got a little to close and he splashed a little water on me.   I was a bit startled and had to run over to a dry spot on the lawn.
Is it raining or did Jerold just drop some more water on me?   Maybe I should get me a hat.
I guess he does not like to have his work inspected… but it's part of my job responsibilities and I really want to do a good job to impress Mom.
Nothing gets by Supervisor Ranger.    I keep my eyes on everything going on in my backyard.
After we finished, all the windows and doors looked real shiny.

Oh noooooo…. all my good nose art, on the back door pane, is gone.   When did that happen?   I guess Mom was not paying attention like I was.   I'll just have to create some new nose art another day.  An artist work is never done.

I must have done a really good job, cuz I got lots of praise from Mom AND she added some chicken to my dinner.    Yummmmmmmmmmmmm,  being the Boss does have its perks.

Do you have any jobs?

Chow for now.

Going on a Leaf Hunt

It is Fall here in NC and it is raining leaves.   I love to chase, catch and chomp on them.  Mom says I'm getting extra fiber in my diet.   I don't know what that means… but chomping is fun!
Yummmm.

Yesterday Mom and Aunty D took me to the Meadow Park so I could go on a leaf hunt.

OMD… that is the biggest leaf that I have ever seen.
This leaf is soooooo big, it is kinda hard to pick up.
Maybe I should grab it from this end.

After we went on our leaf hunt, we came across a playground.  I dug in the sand and I went on the slide.  If I had a buddy.  We could slide down together.
Maybe I'll have to go with Wally next time.
Where are all the children?

Mom says it is probably too cold for the little children.   I guess they do  not have nice warm fur like me.

Time to go now.
Arrrrrooooooo.   There is another dog over there.  Maybe he will play with me and we can catch some leaves together.
Chow for now.

Downward Doggie

When I started going to school, I was really good at "Sit" but I didn't get this "Down" thing.   Since I am a low-rider… "Down" just seemed silly.   I mean… do I really need to get lower to the ground?

Well… over time and with lots and lots of practice, I now have a Masters in "Down". I know that some of my furfriends are still struggling with this, so I thought I'd share some pointers.

For starters, let me just say, "Down" is really cool.   Everytime I do it for Mom... she giggles and gives me a treat.   I like to make Mom laugh anddddd you know... I never turn down a treat.   I even do "Down" when I'm confused and don't understand what she wants.   She is such a pushover for my "Down" that she forgets what she originally wanted me to do and gives me a treat anyways.   Pretty cool huh?

Now Pupfessor Ranger (that's me) will share with you everything you need to know.

Your objective:   To perform the perfect "Down"

Here I am doing a perfect "Down"

"Down" is all about the BSP (Back-Shift-Plop).

Here are the steps:
  1) Focus.   Think about how much you want that treat.
  2) Shift your weight back
  3) Plop down
  4) Look up and look cute.  A TREAT is all yours for the taking !!!!

Now... if you watch my video.. and you too can do a perfect "Down".

I hope this helps you get lots and lots of cookies and makes your peeps laugh.

Chow for now.
Ranger (Downward Dog Yogi Master)
I think I like that title better than Pupfessor.

7 Things about Me

ARrrrrrrrrrrOooooooooooooo!

I love Misaki.   She is one of my BPPs (Best Puppy Pals).
 Misaki

What do I love about Misaki?   So glad you asked.
  • She is tall and beautiful.   Just look at her!
  • She has a really cool name.   I just love to say Misssssssaaaki.
  • She is very exotic and has a cool foreign accent (she's from the UK by way of Alaska).
  • She is accomplished and hard working.  She is a Founding member of the CSI (Canine Service of Investigation) Agency.   How cool is that?
  • She's a fashionista.   Gotta love a girl with a bandana obsession.
  • She gives me lots of comments on my blog and has listed me in her Blogroll.   I love to see my name on my furfriend's blogs.
  • And…. she has given me my very 1st Award.   Yippy!   I got the "Seven Things About Me" award.

With this award I have to list 7 things that you might not know about me and then pass it on to 7 other worthy furfriend.   Here is my list:
  1. Mom thinks I have ADD.   I am Inattentive (but only when there is no treat in sight),  Easily Distracted (ok… I admit it. If something looks better over There… I'll drop whatever I am currently doing to check it out),  Disorganized (ok… I do leave my toys strewed all over the place), and Forgetful (yes… I admit it, I sometime forget where I hid my bones).    I prefer to think of all these characteristics as simply puppy mania.
  2. I am height-challenged.    Not short…. but I am a low rider.   Sometimes being a low rider comes in handy cuz I can sneak under things when one of those peeps try to catch me and pick me up.
  3. I do not really like hugs.   While I like to hug my furfriends and little bears, I really am not too fond of hug grabs.    I grin and bear it when Aunty D insist on daily hugs.
  4. I'm a light pouncer.  In the evening, when the lights are on, I like to pounce on the shadows it makes.   Mom think's I'm nuts when I scratch at the carpet where I see a  flicker of light.   I love light tag in the yard at night too (with a flashlight).
  5. I really DO know what "Come" means.   I just don't always want to "Come" when called.   It is more fun to hear Mom run through all her "bribe words" to get me to "Come".   "Dinner-time", "Carrots", "Apples", and "Cookies" are all good bribes words.
  6. I love, love, love… Cherrios.  Need I say more?
  7. I really like to make Mom laugh.   She is a real push-over for when I do my "Down" really good.
Now…  who should I pass it on to.   This is a big responsibility for one little lad.   I may have to take a nap first.

Sooooooo… Now that I'm all rested, I decided to pass it onto these pawsome furfriends.

Drumroll pleaseeeeeee.

Stuart of the Scottie Chronicles - he is simply the coolest Scottie in blogville
Downunder Dougall - he makes me BOL
Daisy, Bella & Roxy - more Downunder furfriends
Cuttie-pie Mr. Pip - in desperate need of a new headband
Ruby the crazy Airedale - a real high-jumper
Sweet Cotton Candy - I'm in love again
The Sterling Boys Sam and Monty - HeeHaw

I can't wait to read all about their "Seven Things About Me" entry.
If you haven't visited their blogs, you must go there.  You are in for a treat.  Yes, I said it... TRRRRRRREAT!
Chow for now.  I'll bark at you soon,
Ranger (one happy puppy)

Today is "National Hug a Bear Day"

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see?
I see a Scottie, looking at me.
Scottie, Scottie, what do you see?
I see a Brown Bear, sitting in front of me.

Hello Brown Bear.  My name is Ranger.   Can I give you a hug?   Today is "Hug a Bear Day" and you are the first Bear that I have seen today.

Aweeeeeeeee…… that was nice.

Knock-knock!
Hello there.  Is this where Ranger lives?
We All Want Hugs Too!
