Wacky Holiday Challenge - August 7th is National Lighthouse Day

Today's Wacky Holidays is National Lighthouse Day.

We have some pawsome Lighthouses in NC (where I live).

While Cape Hatteras lighthouse (on da Outer Banks) is probably da most famous and well known lighthouse, my favorite is Cape Lookout.

I like da super big black and white diamonds and da setting.   It is truly pawsome.

You can only get to da Cape Lookout National Seashore by boat (ferry) and right across from Cape Lookout is Shackleford Island (where da wild horses run).

The Wild Horses of Shackleford Banks
The wild Shackleford mustangs are isolated on a nine-mile long barrier island between Beaufort Inlet and Cape Lookout.

Des hardy descendants of Spanish Mustangs have the free run of the island, which has no human habitation. Visitors ferrying out to the lighthouse on Cape Lookout can often see the mustangs grazing at the eastern end of the island.

If you visit NC.... don't miss dis lighthouse.

Pees.... tomorrow is August 8th and our Wacky Holiday is "Sneak Some Zucchini onto Your Neighbor's Porch Day".   Dis one will be a challenge.
