Kindred Spirits

Today I ask Mom how I got my name.
She said that I have lots of kindred spirits out there.   I really don't know what that means.  Does she mean "Friendly ghost"?  No way.

So I decided to do some investigating (well I am a Jr. Police Officer and Assistant).    To start my investigation, I got on the computer and google R-A-N-G-E-R.   Here's what I discovered.

Mr. Park. I could be named after him.
I do like the outdoors.

And I do look really good in the hat.  Don't ya think?

Or maybe I got my name from these guys.
Go Rangers !
I do like to play with sticks.
Then there's these Power people.
NO SAY IT ISN'T SO!
I think am allergic to spandex.

The masked Man.  It could be that I'm named in his honor.

I did dress up like him on Halloween.

This guy is cool.
Maybe I was named after him.

Then again, Mom does like our Men in the Army and
I do like to get down low in the grass.
So maybe that's who I'm named after.
And then I finally got a really good clue.   See, I was snooping around in Mom's room and I saw that she has lots of books there.
Mom sure likes to read.

Hummmm…   maybe there is a clue here.
She has a whole bunch of books and there was a pink on the top that had some Evanovich lady on the back cover.   Guess what else was on the back cover?   It talked all about this cool, ex-special forces guy named Ranger.  And he has a whole team of Rangemen.   He dresses is all black (just like me) and this chick named Stephanie that can't seem to resist him (just like my Mollie).

So I ran out into the livingroom and interrogated Mom and she admitted it.   I'm named after a real bad ass cool guy that fights the bad guys (and maybe some squirrels too).

Do you know how you got your name?

Wags,
                        Ranger "Danger"

  1. Pawsome! You are named after a goody. I am named after Moll Flanders and opps she was a naughty lass in every way. Wonder why peeps chose that? Pip is named after Pip in Great Expectations. Hmm not really fair. She gets a goody too. Have a terrific squirrel chasing Tuesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  2. That is a great way to get a name - our names are too have meaning for our Mom & Dad. They both love the Australian movie - "The Man From Snowy River" and Dad REALLY wanted to call me Clancy - after the poem Clancy of the Overflow....but Mom HATED that name - so as they were driving back from visiting me as a teeny tiny puppy Mom said I needed a good scottish name - being a sheltland sheepdog from the shetland islands. Low and behold - he looked up to see the O'Reilly Auto Parts sign - and thus Reilly became my name. Now Denny - well he is actually names after the Man From Snowy River's horse - who was called Denny :)

    1. My Mom loves that Movie "The Man From Snowy River". I haven't seen it. I'm gonna have to ask her to rent in. She says it has lots of horse in it and I get all excited to see any 4 legg'ds on TV.

  7. Okays, I thinks I told this story befores, butts here is the history of MY name:
Ma LOVES this show called Supernatural. It's about two brothers who fight evil (demons, vamps, guardians of Hell, squirrels, etc.), and a reaccuring character on the show was a DEMON named Ruby. She was a smartass, and caused all kinds of troubles. So, Ma thought, "why, yes, let's name my dog after a DEMON!". Geesh. Yeah, somethin' is wrong with the woman....
I like your name history betters.
    Kisses,
    Ruby

  11. My Westie, Delaney is not necessarily names after anyone in particular. I found out that one of Martina MceBride's daughters is named Delaney and I told myself that if I ever had a female Westie, she would be named Delaney. It's a cute name. I enjoyed reading about your name Ranger. In fact, I enjoy reading your blog every day!

  13. Wow how cool to be named after a badass! I think Ranger is a really nice name no matter who you are named for. My family rescued me and I already had my name so I don't know where it came from. Mommy didn't want to get me all confused and change it. I like my name so it all worked out.

  16. WOW you were named after Ranger in the Janet Evanovich/Stephanie Plum series. My Lee has read everyone of them books and has a pack of Tasty Cakes and a book autographed by Evanovich. She also like the spin off Lizzie and Diesel books. So if you were named after Ranger you must be hot hot hot.
