Yard Patrol

I am so Thankful for our BIG Sliding glass doors so I can see outside and stay cool.

I've been working long hours (and missing out on my beauty sleep) as our yard patrol officer.   It is so hot outside dat I have to keep watch from inside da house.

Lately,  dar's a blue heron that has the nerve to walk by (on da other side of my fence)  and then goes fishing in the canal.  When I see him out back, I go crazy and Mom lets me shout at him and chase him to the other side of the canal.  Den I have to watch him to make sure he doesn't come back.   I can usually force him to fly away (my shouting must scare away da fish that he is looking for).

Not only do I have to parol our yard for rabbits, squirrels, and herrons, but now dey say there is a gator around.

Yep, we've had alligator sightings in our neighborhood canals but I'm not too worried about da gator (my yard is fenced).    Maybe if I actually saw one, I might be a bit more concerned.  Butt den again.... I'm a Scottie so I think I can scare him off too.

Hummm.... don't you think I deserve a raise?     Is there such a thing as gator hazard pay?

Pees.   I've been away from blogville for some time now and don't know what events are happening in blogville.   Now dat I'm back, is there a place I can go to see what events/hops are coming up so I can join in?  I do like a good pawty.

Santa Paws' List Day

Dear Santa Paws,
I know dat you have lots of furkids to keep an eye on, but I think you should know dat overall, I've been a really good boy dis year.   

• I always eat all of my food (I don't waste any of it).
• I've only tinkled in da house a couple of times (but dat wasn't my fault... I was way too excited playin' wiff Mom).
• I've only dug a few holes (but I was diggin to rid my yard of moles/voles).
• I've worked real hard to make Mom exercise (walk me).    I must confess dat I have been pulling' more dan I should on my leash but dat is just cuz Mom doesn't walk fast enough.
• I always play nice wiff my furfriends and share my toys and water bowl (just ask Finn and Wally).
• I've sent up loads of POTPs for my ailing furfriends and dar peeps.
• and I think dat I've made my furfriends laugh and smile.

Dat said, here's what I want for Christmas.

1. Good health for all my furfriends and dar peeps.
2. A new tug toy.
3. A new stuffie.
4. Some cookies/treats.

A Letter to my Paw Pal

Today is Write a Letter to your Paw Pal Day.

What?   You wanta steal my yaptop?

Move over Ranger, today I'm commandeering your blog so I can tell the world how much you mean to me and join in on da "Letter To Paw Pal" blog hop.

Don't worry, I promise not to leave my sticky fingerprints all over your keyboard.   You can blog again tomorrow.   I promise.

Dear Ranger Pal,
The first three months of 2012 were hard for me.   In January, I loss my beloved scottie MacGuyver and then in March, I loss my Dad.   I was heartbroken.  
One day, when I was googling scottie puppies, I found Jane Heron in Raeford, NC.   She had a litter of sweet scottie pups.  

I met with Jane and that was the 1st time that I saw you.     You had 2 brothers and 5 sisters.   I chose you.  Hum.... now that I think about it, maybe you chose me.   Thank you for choosing me to be your Mom.

When you were a wee bit bigger, I finally got to bring you home with me.  How could I not fall in love with that sweet face, that little milk lip, and your nice little butt?

You have brought so much joy and laughter into our home.    I can't think of a day that has gone by without you making me laugh.

You are also my favorite little beach bun.     I love how excited you get whenever we go to the beach.   You excitement is infectious.

There is no one I'd rather take a walk on the beach with.     I am constantly amazed at how many perfect strangers stop to introduce themselves to you.

              

It's all about the sandy nose.

Now I thought that I'd let you some more reasons why I love you.

• I love that you bang your paws on the side of my bed to wake me up in the morning.
• I love that you are always excited to see me.
• I love when you give me that "please walk me look".   
• I love that you are always excited to go for a ride in the car or a ride in your bike trailer.
• I love that you jump up on your photography chair whenever you see me with a box for you and a camera.
• I love that you let me know when it is 5:00pm (dinnertime) and pester me until I feed you.
• I love that you grab a stuffie, run up to the TV,  jump up and down whenever you see a Dog or Cat or any 4 legged friend on TV.
• I love when you let me grab a hug from you.
• I love that when I call you in from outside, you just sit there and stare at me.   After I close the door, you run to it so I can let you in.  (maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that one).

Thank you for all the joy and laughter.

Love really is a 4 legged Word.

Puppy Advice for Dui

Welcome to Blogville, MacDui!

Dui is a wee little laddie and is livin the high life Downunder with his big sisters Bella & Roxy.

Today is da day we all give little Dui some puppy advice.

Here's my advice for Dui:

1. Training.  Your peep will want to teach you to do lots of useless stuff.   They will call it "training" and give you treats to do what dey want.  Act dumb so you can get loads of training treats.
2. Confusion/Chaos.   Whatever your peep tells you to do; do da opposite.  You'll confuse dem and will never get into trouble because dey will think dat you are so darn cute.   It is soooooooo much fun messin wiff dem and to see dat confused look on dar face.
3. Noise maker.  Silence is your friend when gettin into mischief.   Always leave da scene of destruction when you hear a noise (could be a peep coming to check on you).
4. Property.  Anything dat you can sink your sharp little teeth into is Yours.
5. Snatchin toys.   You are small and fast so snatchin toys from Bella and Roxy is easy peasy.   Let dem win (some of da time) cuz dey are your big sisters and will always look after you.
6. Pickin fights.  Pick fights wiff Mom's shoes and boxes instead of your big sisters.
7. Stuff not to eat.  Never eat chocolate or eyes off a human stuffies.  
   
   I ate one of snoopy's eyes once and had to go to da dogster.   It was a pukey kinda a day.   Enough said.
8. Mail.  Da mailman is your friend.  He brings Blogville packages for you and your sisters.   Also, da box is not the pressie….. look inside.
9. Food.   Only eat food out of your own dish.  Never try to eat food from your sisters' dish.   Dos girls love to eat and take dining seriously.   Do Not mess wiff dar foodables.    Now… if it is on da floor… it's free game.  Go for it.
10. Dirt.   Dig in it, roll in it, and eat it.   Dirty is good and manly.  

I'll let da others tell ya all aboutz Squirrels.

Here's my advice for Bella & Roxy:

• Move over girls…. dare's a new alpha pup in da house.   Deal wiff it.  If he's being too pesty and you need a little peace…. just jump onto da couch.   Dui is way too little to get up on da couch.   Other dan that… enjoy da chaos and your new little shadow.

Higgins:  Yes, because your conscious mind certainly isn't capable of such superior detective work.
Ranger:  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I'm livin da good life in Hawaii!   I got da beach, girls, and get to look cool cruising around da island (by air and on land).   Not bad.
